SOLMAR V is proud to bring back professional
photographer/cinematographer Marty Snyderman for a special
photo excursion to the Socorro Islands. As an added bonus,
photo pro Bonnie Pelnar will be joining Marty to lend her
digital
photo
editing
expertise.
What better place
to learn from the pros while sharpening your photo/video
skills than the Socorro Islands, long known
for an abundance of marine life and consistent big animal
encounters.
Marty will be presenting
nightly slide shows and both Bonnie and Marty will be available
to assist you with questions
and tips about underwater photography and video throughout
the trip. During the evenings Bonnie will also be giving
up her secrets on how to use Adobe Photoshop to make
your best shots of the day even better and will be demonstating
the newest version, Photoshop CS3, highlighting the features
that are especially useful for underwater photos. Bring
your digital cameras and your laptops! AND both Marty
and
Bonnie
are lots of fun to have onboard! Photo Contest with Prizes!
Bonnie & Marty will conduct a photo contest for the best
shots of the week with prizes as well as
lots of recognition. As an added bonus, we will give away

Snyderman
Marty
Snyderman is a film producer, Emmy Award winning
cinematographer, still
photographer, author and speaker specializing in
issues concerning marine wildlife and the marine
environment. His film, "The Secret World of Sharks
and Rays", a documentary about the natural history
of sharks, premiered during October of 1998 on
the PBS series NATURE. Marty produced and filmed
To Be With Sharks (View From The Cage) which premiered
on the Discovery Channel in July 1994 during Shark
Week. A big ratings success, it is the second most
widely watched premier in the history of Shark
Week. In addition, Marty's cinematography has been
used by Warner Brothers, National Geographic Society,
BBC, NOVA, PBS, United Wildlife, CBS, ABC, the
Audubon Society, Paramount’s magazine series
and the Discovery Channel. Marty's still photography
and/or writing has been utilized by National Geographic
Magazine, numerous National Wildlife Federation
publications, Natural History, Audubon, Sport Diver,
Dive Training, Skin Diver, Shark Diver, Newsweek,
the Monterey Bay Aquarium, New England Aquarium,
and Seattle Aquarium, and by numerous other publications
and organizations expressing interest in the marine
environment both in the United States and overseas.

Bonnie
Pelnar
From
the first images Bonnie captured with a rented
Motormarine camera during
a 1987 Cozumel dive trip, she was hooked! Her hobby
became a passion and her passion became a career.
She left a successful career with Kodak over twelve
years ago to start her company Under Watercolours,
and hasn't looked back since. Today Bonnie is recognized
as one of the leading designers in the dive and
travel industry with over 110 original web sites,
15 CD ROMs, logos, catalogues and brochures you've
probably picked up at the dive shows. More than
1200 of Bonnie's photographs can be found online
and in print used to promote the best of the dive
industry. You've recently seem many of Bonnie's
photos in Sport Diver and Scuba Diving Magazines.
Her travels have taken her to the most exotic dive
destinations of the world; Indonesia, Papua New
Guinea, Australia, Fiji, Philippines, Africa, Galapagos,
Socorro, Palau, Micronesia, Hawaii, and all over
the Caribbean and Mexico. Bonnie teamed up with
Marty Snyderman to develop a series of online courses
teaching digital underwater photography and the
digital workflow for underwater photographers,
