Dive Report trip N° 14 ( October 8th -12th)
Another amazing trip to Guadalupe Island where the Great White Shark rules!! We saw at least 10 different Great whites and we could watch 6 of them together from the submersible cage at the same time, circling and swimming around the cages, doing vertical attacks to the surface straight to the bait and giving hard time to the wranglers. Andy a huge male of more than 4 m / 12 ft was turning around the submersible cage and it was very active at the surface, its massive body is impressive, a big and fat guy! Was amazing to watch Andy swimming to the surface just in seconds from the depth. Then, a curious sea lion was dancing near to the bow, when a Great White went after it and the sea lion got away!! Was common to have 2 to 3 sharks most of the time around the cages at the surface and facing the submersible cage. A couple of them were males of more than 3 m / 9 ft and a couple of females were passing by. A bunch of yellow fin tunas were chasing the mackerels and a bunch of rainbow runners were close to the submersible cage and in between this explosion of life, the great whites showed up from the depth and they been there to the last moment of the trip. From the platform, for the delight of the photographers, the Great whites were breaching showing us their open jaws plenty of teeth!!
We are almost to the end of this season and the action has no stop in Guadalupe and we have a couple more fun trips coming!! See you soon!!
