After a relaxed crossing we started the trip on San Benedicto at Las Cuevas. An easy first dive to find groups of sleeping white tip sharks in the 2 caves and beautiful octopus mesmerizing us with their changing colors.
Day 2 and we awoke to dive “The Boiler”, greeted by small groups of bottle-nose dolphins on the panga ride to the site. During the dives we were entertained by both Black and Chevron Mantas who enjoyed our bubbles!
Next stop, Roca Partida! A cloudy day, windy on the surface but below excellent conditions. With mild current heading South, the North East point was providing all the highlights with Silky, Galapagos, Hammerhead and Silver Tip sharks. Wahoo and huge Tuna were passing in the blue for almost every dive.
On the way out to the last dive of the day Andrés our Panga captain told everybody to find their snorkels, possibly there was a baitball forming! When we arrived there were over 150 Silky sharks pushing the juvenile Green Jacks to the surface. We managed 45 minutes watching the Silkies and Tuna taking apart the small baitball.
Day 5 started with the most incredible sunrise and dolphins playing off the bow of the Solmar V. At Socorro Island we began the day diving Cabo Pearce, with close dolphin interaction, hammerhead encounters and our first Tiger Shark sighting of the trip there were huge smiles all round.
For our final day we headed back to San Benedicto and “El Cañon”. With Dolphins, Silkies, Galapagos,
Again another unforgettable trip on the Solmar V.
